About

Nir Shemmer was raised in the coastal town of Ostend (Belgium), he started listening to music at an early age. He picked up the guitar in his early teens and was inspired to play by music of the early seventies such as James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Bill Withers. In late spring of 2020 he finally teamed up with longtime friend and very talented musician Thomas Decock to pre-record his first single "Shaky Ground".

Recorded at Studio Ledeberg in Ghent and inspired by contemporary artists such as Jeff Tweedy, Ben Harper, Lukas Nelson and the Promise Of The Real and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, “Shaky Ground" deals with feelings of desperation and hope with seeing a partner struggle with mental health issues.

In 2021 two more singles 'I Don't Know Just Why' and 'Without It' were recorded at Studio Ledeberg and subsequently released.

In February of 2022 Nir was selected to participate in the prestigious Belgian music competition 'Humo's Rock Rally', armed with a five piece live band, the performance was well received sparking a series of live shows in the summer in and around Ostend (Paulusfeesten, Leffingeleuren,...).

During this time Thomas and Nir decided to invest in building a humble recording studio,  a new EP, spearheaded by a new single 'Winona', will be released in 2023.

A number of tour dates in 2023 will help promote the new material.
